Laser Skin Resurfacing

The Asclepion DermaBlate®, backed by Astanza

The Asclepion DermaBlate®, backed by Astanza, stands as the industry standard for Erbium lasers. This state-of-the-art technology is trusted by leading dermatologists and physicians worldwide as the foremost Erbium:YAG laser, owing to its reliability and effectiveness in achieving precise laser skin resurfacing.

The DermaBlate® laser accurately ablates skin with micron-level precision, providing a safe and gentle way to eliminate a wide range of unwanted skin imperfections. Its unique 2,940 nm wavelength matches the peak of water absorption, ensuring that the laser’s energy is primarily used to rapidly vaporize water in tissue, resulting in almost instant tissue ablation.

Compared to CO2 lasers, the DermaBlate® offers significantly shorter healing times and much less discomfort, thanks to its minimal thermal effects. The safety features of this Erbium laser make it the superior choice for delicate areas such as the neck, face, chest, and hands.

This advanced procedure possesses the capability to address deep frown lines, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, and under-eye bags, while also stimulating collagen production through superficial treatment to meet and surpass your expectations.

How the Procedure Works

During the treatment, our Astanza DermaBlate® laser employs a MicroSpot handpiece that targets only a fraction of the skin tissue. The laser beam splits into 169 partial rays in a 13 x 13 mm treatment area, ablating the upper skin layer. This, in turn, triggers skin renewal and collagen formation, which is bolstered by the surrounding healthy skin tissue.

The handpiece emits energy across the desired area, grid by grid, until the entire surface area receives sufficient treatment. The sensation administered by the laser during treatment is often compared to a sunburn, resulting in a small “chex mix” pattern on the skin. Small scabs will form, heal rapidly, and naturally flake off after just a few days, thanks to the small size of each micro lens spot. Any signs of treatment will be nearly imperceptible within three to seven days following the procedure, depending on the desired effect.

Patients will witness remarkable improvements in skin texture and appearance, reduced wrinkles and scars, diminished pore size, and improved skin pigmentation. While multiple treatment sessions are advised for deep lines and scars, a significant number of patients will observe substantial improvements after just a single treatment.

DermaBlate® FAQ’s

Which areas can be treated?

Our treatment can be applied to the face, as well as wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, pigmented lesions on the face, neck, chest, hands, and virtually any other area with skin imperfections.

Is the laser safe?

The Astanza DermaBlate® is an FDA-cleared laser designed specifically for safe skin ablation with remarkably fast healing times. It is trusted by leading dermatologists and physicians worldwide and has demonstrated its reliability and effectiveness. Furthermore, the DermaBlate® offers a safer approach than CO2 lasers for patients with darker skin tones, and is less painful with a shorter downtime compared to chemical peels.

How many sessions are typically needed?

Most patients will experience significant skin improvement after a single treatment. However, for optimal results, multiple sessions spaced approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart can be considered.

What is the healing time?

The recovery duration varies based on the desired effect. Some treatments may require only a few hours to a day for complete recovery, while more aggressive treatments targeting deeper skin damage may necessitate up to a week. During the initial 48 hours following more intensive treatments, patients may experience a warm, sunburn-like sensation. Within 3 to 7 days post-treatment, the skin will appear smooth with a reddish tint that can be easily concealed with light makeup. Fractional skin resurfacing treatments result in minimal downtime compared to more aggressive CO2 laser treatments and chemical peels. Recovery is swift and should not disrupt daily or social activities.

What results can be expected?

After fractional skin resurfacing, you can anticipate tighter, smoother, and more refined skin. Deep wrinkles will appear less prominent, and fine lines may disappear entirely.
